Luhan’s company denies allegations of astronomical appearance fees

Chinese singer-actor Luhan has now been implicated in a brewing controversy over the astronomical appearance fees commanded by certain actors.

Previously, the main lead of Ruyi’s Royal Love In The Palace, Wallace Huo, as well as A-list actresses Angelababy and Fan Bingbing were named in the original reports.

Following that, the host of Chinese educational programme Lecture Room, Zhang Hongjie, revealed during his show that his friends in the entertainment industry had revealed Luhan’s appearance fees in his upcoming historical drama during a dinner gathering.

The host then went on to allege that the 26-year-old was paid RMB$120 million (approximately S$24.5 million) for his role in the historical drama.

Luhan’s name was then drawn into the controversy surrounding the top actors who had requested abnormally high fees for their drama appearances, with his company speaking up for him shortly after.

The singer-actor’s studio reposted the news on their Weibo account yesterday, adding on a simple, “[We have] no tolerance towards rumours. If this cannot be dealt with wisely, legal action will be taken!”
