“Monkey King” Chin Ka-lok Celebrates 51st Birthday with Family

On Saturday (August 6), Angela Tong (湯盈盈) surprised her husband Chin Ka-lok (錢嘉樂) with a small birthday party at their home, to celebrate Ka-lok’s 51st birthday. Angela was dressed as the monk Tang Sanzang, a main character in the classic novel Journey to the West <西遊記>, while Ka-lok was dressed as the Monkey King.

Ka-lok and Angela’s two daughters, 3-year-old Alyssa and 11-month-old Kassidy, surprised their father with a tiny themed birthday cake. Ka-lok hugged his children and couldn’t stop smiling all night!

Ka-lok and Angela married in November 2012 after five years of dating. One of their first collaborations together was the 2001 TVB fantasy drama Gods of Honour <封神榜>, in which Angela played the devil Pipa Jing and Ka-lok played the three-eyed demigod, Erlang Shen.

They welcomed their first daughter, Alyssa, in March 2013. Their daughter Kassidy was born in September 2015.

Angela is currently starring in the TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Dinner for 8 <愛·回家之八時入席>. Ka-lok is currently on a promotional tour for Line Walker: The Movie <使徒行者>, his latest project as action director. The film opens August 11.
