It
has been reported that Cheryl’s ex-husband, Jean-Bernard
Fernandez-Versini, is dating the singer’s close friend Vanessa
Perroncel.
Vanessa
used to date footballer Wayne Bridge who played on the same team as
Cheryl’s first husband Ashley Cole, with the two girls becoming close
around that time.
It
is thought that they have recently drifted apart but, to be fair, if
your pal had eyes for your ex hubby you probably would, wouldn’t you?
A source told The Mirror: “They’re close. It’s fairly early days but there certainly seems to be something there.
"No doubt it will come as a surprise to Cheryl, to learn the romance is with someone she knows.
"I don’t think she and Vanessa stayed friends but at one stage they were quite close.”
Still,
Cheryl can’t really be too upset by the whole situation because she is
currently dating One Direction star Liam Payne and we reckon there are
definitely worse people to get over an ex with.
Cheryl
also reportedly turned down Jean-Bernard’s pleas to try and save their
marriage, refusing counselling and instead offering a financial
settlement to end their union as fast as possible.
A source previously said: “JB wanted to pull out all the stops to make the marriage work.
"Cheryl had clearly given up on him but he tried to persuade her to go to counselling sessions with him.
"When
she offered money to smooth things over, he refused. JB was never
interested in Cheryl’s money. He just fancied her like crazy.”
Well, here’s hoping that both of them have found happiness with their new partners.
