Scarlet Heart: Goryeo to premiere on August 29

Those eagerly anticipating the Korean remake of Taiwanese hit drama Scarlet Heart (also known as Bu Bu Jing Xin), Scarlet Heart: Goryeo will have a shorter wait for the show’s broadcast, with broadcaster SBS confirming that they have shifted its airing schedule up.

Initially slated to air in September, it now has a confirmed premiere on August 29. Its cast includes Lee Jun Ki (Scholar Who Walks the Night), IU (The Producers), Kang Ha Neul (Misaeng), Nam Joo Hyuk (Cheese in the Trap), among others. Fans are also anticipating EXO’s Baekhyun and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun in their first period drama roles.

The drama will be fully pre-produced before it airs, which follows in the footsteps of tvN’s Cheese in the Trap and KBS’s Descendants of the Sun.

The latter half of the year looks set to be filled with youth-led period dramas, with Moonlight Drawn By Clouds (Park Bo Gum, Kim Yoo Jung) and Hwarang: The Beginning (Park Seo Joon, Go Ara) also slated to be broadcast in the coming months.
