Taiwanese actor Darren Wang’s bold kiss with his Our Times director, Chen Yu-Shan, turns out to be just for show.
After the recent Our Times celebration party, where the infamous kiss took place, Yu-Shan issued a statement saying she hoped “everyone would stop speculating and ruining audiences’ impressions,” and that Darren was interested in Taiwanese actress Eugenie Liu.
At the party, the Darren–Yu-shan smooches weren’t the only ones that day. Darren’s manager clarified that everyone was in a good mood and there was kissing all round. Even actress Vivien Sung, who shared a brief one with Darren, posted a photo of the encounter, seemingly to defend Darren.
Darren’s manager added that he had gone for dinner with Yu-Shan after a media event for Our Times, as Darren was wearing a promo tee then, and that he would have accepted the invitation even if it had been issued by famed film producer Angie Chai, so there was nothing going between Darren and Yu-Shan.
When she was filming director for Taiwan’s Sanlih E-Television, Yu-Shan was known to be caring and affectionate towards her lead actors, including Ethan Ruan and Vanness Wu. And when Hong Kong’s Andy Lau made a cameo in Our Times, she took it upon herself to pin on his lapel microphone.
