After Hong Kong actor Ruco Chan and pop star Aka Chio of the band Super Girls, actress Moon Lau has become the latest celeb rumoured to have caused a rift between compatriot artistes Linda Chung and Philip Ng, who have been dating for eight years.
According to Hong Kong media, it was revealed on Tuesday that sparks flew between Philip and Moon when they were filming scenes last month for the upcoming period drama Heroes of the Walled City.
With both their birthdays falling in September, Philip and Moon made an appearance together at TVB’s birthday celebration for September babies. Afterwards, the two were seen carrying matching luggage cases and leaving together in a taxi, heading towards Philip’s home in Cheung Sha Wan district for a 90-minute meal of noodles nearby.
Moon has declined to comment on the event, while Philip clarified through his manager that the luggage cases were a lucky draw gift from the birthday celebration. Philip also said that he and Moon had made plans to dine together long before and both happened to be free that night, so they went ahead with it.
Philip said, “Whether it’s for guys or girls, I think becoming friends after collaborating at work and then having a meal together is perfectly natural, and eating out with friends doesn’t make anyone a player.”
Linda, however, might think differently. The actress is reportedly upset and friends are keeping her company to cheer her up.
Moon is no stranger to controversy. Since coming in third in the 2013 Miss Hong Kong pageant, the 26-year-old has been photographed kissing Hong Kong actor You-Nam Wong in his car, and rumoured to have pursued Arnaldo Ho, a scion of Macau’s famous casino family.
