Having successfully launched the Pocket Racers GT (PRGT) mobile racing game on 2 April ‘16 led $1.1 billion Capital Theatre. This time, collaborating again with Tamiya Stargek, will be Tamiya Mini 4WD car racing competition happening for members of VenVici, the co-publisher of PRGT as well as Tamiya enthusiasts.
Pocket Racers GT is a free-to-play mobile racing game. The basic gameplay is
modelled after the Japanese mini track racing cars made famous Tamiya, running
on channelled tracks. PRGT expertly creates a champion fantasy story that wins
the hearts of gamers who aspire to be hero pocket racers. Pocket Racers GT is
co-published by GToken whose founder, Ivan Lee, is a serial entrepreneur and
having formerly founded the restaurant chain Thai Express. The game is marketed
by GToken’s exclusive marketing arm, VenVici.
The VenVici-Tamiya LIVE RACE event is going to be a unique convergence of ‘game imitating life’- what you play in a game you play in real life too. Because the PRGT gameplay takes after mini cars racing on channelled tracks, we came up with this idea of racing in a real track to let gamers better appreciate the relationship between speed, weight and mechanics. This will to be just for the experience. There will be a competition where a typical racing format applies- racing brackets, warm up runs, timed race, trophies, prizes and more.
Beside the race competition, there will also be a barrage of activities going on. Tamiya Singapore, the track and cars sponsor of the race, will have a big space to showcase their latest collections and parts, all of which will be for sale. Our venue partner, Capitol Investments, will open up not one but two levels of the Capitol Theatre to host all the guests. With the seats on the ground levelled (yes, Southeast Asia’s most modern auditorium have seats that can be retracted into the ground, creating a big multi-purpose function hall), we can comfortably welcome more than 800 guests.
Capitol Investments will also be projecting the race in real time on their big screens so that everyone can still see the action no matter where they stand at the huge hall. If mini cars do not tick your box, there will be a real and fast supercar Ferrari F458 outside the Capitol Theatre. Instagram to your heart’s content as the Italia will keep its brake on for the duration of the event. Singapore’s funniest man, Herbert Liu, will be the emcee. And then there will be artists’ performances from Royal Entertainment.
