Friends
of famous Taiwan magician Liu Tianjin organise a memorial concert to
honour him after his passing in March this year, and Lee Hom flew in
from United States to specially attend the event with his pregnant wife
Lee Jinglei.
As it is the couple’s first public appearance together
after confirming pregnancy rumours, reporters quizzed Jinglei, who wore
black wide-legged trousers to hide her baby bump, about her morning
sickness, but received no replies from her.
Tears were shed at the
memorial when Lee Hom performed ‘The Last Song’, which reminded the
audience of the late songwriter and producer.
Lee Hom also shared an
anecdote of him, saying, “When I first knew him 20 years ago, he knew
that my Chinese wasn’t good, so he talked to me in English instead. He
always greeted me with ‘Hey man’, even though his English was not good.”
The
39-year-old also went to describe Tianjin as a “root” in his life and
an important bassist who has helped him tremendously. “I really am very
lucky, because of him, I was able to meet everyone in the Taiwan music
industry and get so many opportunities, thanks man, thank you everyone,”
he said.
Selina
from S.H.E also made an appearance at the memorial concert to pay her
respects and revealed he had helped Ella “develop an alternative way of
using her vocal chords”.
