She was reported to be the first miss A member to release a solo effort

JYP has denied reports that miss A’s Suzy will be the first member of the quartet to release a solo album. The group made their debut in July 2010 with ‘Bad Girl Good Girl’, and has promoted exclusively as four.

Representatives confirmed that she is in the midst of preparing and selecting songs for her upcoming album but did not comment on its expected release date. Her label, JYP Entertainment, however, swiftly shot down these reports, confirming that while they have met with composers to pick songs for Suzy, that there are currently no concrete plans for her solo debut.

Earlier this year, Suzy released a duet with EXO’s Baekhyun, ‘Dream’, which was received extremely well by fans and the public alike. She has also sung OSTs for numerous dramas, including The Time We Were Not in Love and Gu Family Book.

Apart from her singing career, she has also pursued a career in acting and will star alongside Kim Woo Bin (Heirs) in drama Lightly, Ardently later this year.

Reports of her solo debut has stirred mixed reactions from netizens, some of whom have questioned if this spells the end for miss A as a group. They last released Colors, with title track ‘Only You’, in March 2015 and JYP has not confirmed a group comeback in the near future.
