Super Junior member Yesung made his solo debut with Here I Am on April 19 and thanked his fellow group mate Siwon for his support.
Following the footsteps of Kyuhyun and Ryeowook, Yesung rounded up sub-unit Super Junior-K.R.Y (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung) in releasing solo albums.
While his album has received lukewarm responses, Siwon showed his support by purchasing 10 copies of the album. Guesting on MBC’s FM4U yesterday (April 26), Yesung shared that he did not expect for the strong show of support but was grateful for it.
Having bought a copy of both Kyuhyun and Ryeowook’s solo albums, he chuckled that Siwon, given his well-to-do background, “Could have bought 100 copies instead”.
Meanwhile, someone claiming to be Yesung’s brother made a post on popular Korean online portal Naver about the solo album, shared “As a younger brother who watched him work hard for four years (on this album), I wanted him to do well. I believed that he would do well because the song is good, but it wasn’t easy after the song was released.”
“He worked so hard on it and everyone around him like it but it isn’t doing well (…) His song is called ‘Here I Am’, so please listen to it and judge it objectively (…) because I was so frustrated and desperate for him to be able to do well, I posted this without any shame. Thank you for reading,” he finished.
