Taiwanese actress Joe Chen was recently reported to have drowned her
sorrows in alcohol on the weekend of celebrity couple Ruby Lin and
Wallace Huo’s wedding.
Wallace and Joe first starred alongside each other in the 2003 idol drama serial, 100% Senorita, and
were soon reported to be in a relationship. While they never formally
confirmed the relationship, they did admit to having “positive feelings”
for the other.
The couple eventually broke up, allegedly because
Wallace wanted to focus on his career, while Joe was too invested in
their relationship.
Ten years later, the duo reunited for another drama, with Wallace
famously saying in an interview that “There will always be a special
place in my heart for her”. While he never specified who he was
referring to, many took it to mean Joe. They were also rumoured to have
briefly reignited their romance then.
However, Ruby often posted
pictures of her with Wallace at that time, arousing Joe’s jealousy. It
was said that Joe’s jealousy was only appeased when Ruby personally
called Joe to explain the matter.
An insider recently revealed that Joe, who apparently couldn’t get
over Wallace, tearfully drowned her sorrows in alcohol on the night of
his wedding, worrying her close friends.
However, when asked to
comment on the reports, Joe’s manager denied it, asserting that Joe’s
emotions “were not affected [by the wedding] at all”.
