Hayden Chen is being discovered in Taiwan by Royal Entertainment in 2014. Back then, he was still a newbie in the entertainment industry who had low self-esteem.
Hence, he felt that he
still needed more time to improve on his singing skills when his manager
wanted him to launch his first single. Hayden Chen even jokingly said
“I don’t have the looks. I must be one of the ugliest newcomers.”
However, his manager asked “what are you afraid of?”, and encouraged him
to live by the moment with what he has. He waited for 2 good years
before launching his very first single “怕什么”.
Although Hayden Chen is a singer from Taiwan, however, his
debut single was collaborated with George Leong, a renowned producer
from Singapore. Royal Entertainment believes in the principle of “Made
in Singapore” spirit for our artistes. We are also very honoured to
have Singapore’s famous composer, Derrick Tham in this project to
compose for Hayden Chen’s single. Derrick Tham has previously made
Taiwanese singer, Sam Lee’s song “最近” became a hit in the Karaoke.
Hayden Chen shared that it wasn’t easy recording for his single as
compared to recording a demo.
As for the MV production, we had invited Singapore’s senior
producer, Jason Lim to be the director, as well as our very own Royal
Entertainment artiste, Henry Xiao as the co-director. In addition, we
had invited Malaysia’s renowned artistes, Kaster Seng and Elen Soh as
the lead in the MV.
