At the press conference for the 2016 Hito Music Awards presentation to be held at the Taipei Arena on June 5, the roster of nominees was announced. At today’s presentation, Fang Wu, Szu-shien Wu and Ian Chen took turns to perform the top 10 Mandarin Songs. Then Selina Jen and Kenji Wu showed up to announce the nominees for the Most Popular Male Singer and Female Singer Awards. A series of related activities officially started after the announcement that the 2016 theme was "Absolute Music, Absolute Star Event". As both Selina and Ella Chen were nominated for the Most Popular Female Singer Award, Kenji teased, "I think we’ll witness an internal strife. Their friendship may not last long."
