Jeanette Aw off to a good start in online categories

The well-loved actress is currently in the lead for Favourite Female Character and Favourite Onscreen Couple with Qi Yuwu

Jeanette Aw was the very first recipient of the Star Awards Favourite Female Character and Favourite Onscreen Couple (with Christopher Lee) titles all the way back in 2010 and 2011 respectively, but could she be the last one as well before the online categories are retired for good next year?

If things go as smoothly as they are for her at the moment, that could very well be the case. Based on results collected at 5pm yesterday, Jeanette is currently in the lead for Favourite Female Character (for her role as Zhao Fei Er in The Dream Makers 2) and Favourite Onscreen Couple (for her pairing with Qi Yuwu in the same drama). If she emerges victorious again, it will be her third consecutive win in both categories.

The second and third positions for Favourite Female Character are also held by The Dream Makers 2 characters, namely Rui En’s Fang Tong Lin and Huang Biren’s Guan Xie En respectively. We also find Rui En placing second and third for Favourite Onscreen Couple: with Shaun Chen in The Journey: Our Homeland and with Qi Yuwu in The Dream Makers 2.

Over at Favourite Male Character, 2013 champ Xu Bin’s fans have managed to get him and his character in You Can Be An Angel Too into the top spot ahead of Romeo Tan (The Journey: Our Homeland) and fellow Noontalk artiste Aloysius Pang (Hand in Hand). However, his promising position remains at the mercy of your ballots until April 24, which can be said about the rest of the online Favourite awards as well (so remember to log in and let your votes do the talking).

This year, viewers – or rather, listeners – will also get to decide which drama soundtrack is deserving of the Best Theme Song title. For now, Kit Chan’s ‘Finally’ (The Dream Makers 2) is number one, followed by A-do’s ‘Longing to Tell You’ (Crescendo) and Olivia Ong’s ‘Our Homeland’ (The Journey: Our Homeland).

Remember to vote for your favourites online here until April 24 at 10pm. Results for the Favourite Characters and Onscreen Couple awards are 100% based on online votes, while results for Best Theme Song are determined by 50% professional judging and 50% online votes.
