Yedang Entertainment will be starting fresh with a new name, Banana Culture.
Banana Culture stated on March 2, "Yedang Entetainment, the entertainment company housing girl group EXID, singer Sung Eun and vocal group Welldone Potato, has changed its name to Banana Culture."The agency continued, "Banana Culture, together with Banana Project, a media group receiving attention through its management of Panda TV in China, is building an environment to foster the production of diverse content in Korea, ahead of our advancement into the constantly evolving market in China."
The company continued, "The ′Yedang′ brand, which is synonymous with the history of Korean entertainment, will be returned to the surviving family of the late Byun Doo Sub, the late Yedang Company chairman."
Banana Culture′s Yoo Jae Woong stated, "Through the company′s name change, we will strengthen the brand image and support our artists′ promotions in Korea and abroad through a systematized and enhanced strategy."
